MUSEUM AS TEXT: COMMUNICATING WITH AUDIENCES
Monday 28 April 10.30am – 4pm
How does the Design Museum engage its audiences? Using the museum as the case study, this multi disciplinary study day will explore and critique the ways in which the institution presents itself to visitors. This will include a curatorial tour and overview of interpretation at the museum, a design brief focusing on exhibition design and a talk by an exhibition designer. Concluding with a crit, a selection of students work will be photographed and showcased on the DM website. The course will be of particular interest to students of Graphic Design and Communication, Spatial Design and Curatorial Practice. After the study day briefs will be available online for independent study.

DESIGN OVERTIME
Every museum has its late night, but not every late night lets you take part quite as much as Design Overtime.
This bi-monthly event provides an opportunity to view Design Museum exhibitions until 10pm, but also encourages you to participate through workshops, activities and debates. Always fun, often serious, and sometimes spectacular, the theme and content of Design Overtime is determined by the current exhibitions.
So whether you choose to chat with your friends over a drink, listen to some music, contemplate a show in solitude, or get involved in a workshop, each Design Overtime is unique and only £5.
The Design Museum also runs an acclaimed Talks + Courses programme, suitable for students and teachers.
